Must do Activities in Sydney

Sydney, Australia | Oceania

Sydney is one of those cities that truly has it all—iconic landmarks, stunning beaches, incredible wildlife, and endless adventure. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or a few weeks, there are some experiences you simply can’t miss. From feeding kangaroos to catching waves at Bondi, here are my favorite must-do activities in Sydney that made my trip unforgettable.

Go to Sybio wildlife park to feed kangarooos

You seriously can’t go to Australia without feeding (or at least petting!) a kangaroo. Yes, it might sound a bit touristy, but honestly, those activities are popular for a reason… they’re amazing!
We took the train to Symbio Wildlife Park and ended up having one of the best days ever. Being up close with kangaroos felt so surreal and magical. And yes, we even managed to snap a selfie with one, definitely a core memory!

Take a tour inside the Sydney Opera house

Seeing the Opera House from the outside is already impressive—but going inside takes it to a whole new level.
You can book guided tours that take you behind the scenes, where you’ll explore the stunning concert halls and learn more about the building’s history and design. The architecture, the views, the atmosphere—it’s all just beautiful. Plus, how cool is it to say you’ve actually been inside one of the world’s most famous buildings?

Surf lesson in bondi beach

Surfing is the classic Australian experience, and let me tell you, it’s way harder than it looks. But also way more fun!
Bondi Beach is the perfect place to give it a try, whether you’re a total beginner or looking to improve. There are plenty of surf schools right on the beach, so it’s super easy to book a lesson and jump straight into the waves. Even if you spend more time falling than standing, you’ll have an amazing time.

Go on a coastal walk

Sydney is famous for its coastal walks, and this one is easily my favorite.
The Bondi to Coogee walk takes you along stunning cliffs, past beautiful beaches, rock pools, and parks. The best part? You don’t have to rush it. Take your time, stop for a swim, grab a coffee, and enjoy the views along the way. It’s one of those experiences that feels relaxing and adventurous at the same time.

Visit the Sydney’s Tv tower eye

For one of the best views over the city, head up to Sydney Tower Eye.
From the top, you get a panoramic view of Sydney’s skyline, harbor, and beyond. It’s especially beautiful around sunset when the city starts to light up. If you love viewpoints, this one is definitely worth adding to your list.

Go stargazing at the Sydney Observatory

For something a little different, spend an evening at Sydney Observatory.
You can join guided sessions to learn about the stars, planets, and the night sky. It’s a fun and relaxing activity, perfect if you want a break from the busy city while still doing something unique and memorable.

Final Thoughts

Sydney is the kind of place where every day can look completely different, one day you’re feeding kangaroos, the next you’re surfing at the beach or exploring iconic landmarks.

What I loved most is how the city blends nature, adventure, and culture so effortlessly. No matter your travel style, there’s something here for you. If you’re planning a trip, make sure to include at least a few of these experiences, you won’t regret it!
