Struga, North-Macedonia | Europe

Why Visit Struga, North Macedonia?

When I look back on visiting North-Macedonia I mostly think about how much I enjoyed the peacefulness and the unexpected beauty of this county. From roaming the busy streets in New York city to hiking in the jungle of Brasil I now found myself traveling back in time to a traditional country with a rich history between beautiful mountains.

The beating heart of the little city Struga is the Drim River. Which starts at Lake Ohrid and flows through the center of the town creating a poetic scenery. The Drim is surrounded by restaurants and cafes making It the perfect place for a cozy evening walk.

Here are some experiences that are awaiting you in Struga:

2. Experience a Local Tradition at Haser Nani Bridge

When the weather is hot, the water is cold, and you can feel the sun touching your skin it is time for a swim in the Drim River. And there is no better way to get into the water than the thrilling tradition of jumping of the Haser Nani bridge like a real local. At least… if you dare to jump. Everyone in the city comes to the Haser Nani bridge, not only to make a splash in the cold water between the fish but also to enjoy each other’s company and have an unforgettable afternoon. 4. Where to Eat Pizza in Struga: Angela’s.

Struga offers great restaurants and one of the best is Angela’s. The pizza here tastes like you are trying pizza for the first time again, especially their original Angela pizza. If you want to have a taste you will have to be patient, especially in the summer there are waiting lines to get a seat at the restaurant along the Drim River but it is definitely worth the wait for this Pizza Paradise. If the waiting line is too long food you pick another place alongside the Drimm River and enjoy the views!
